We provide world class expertise in support of the fabrication of infrared and other electro-optic detectors

OVERVIEW

Electro-optic detectors such as photodiodes and photoconductors are microelectronic devices fabricated from semi-conducting materials. The purity, composition and crystalline integrity of these materials are critical to the performance of the devices made from them. The detectors are usually fabricated in

bullet

single or polycrystalline bulk samples of the electro-optically active material

bullet

thin single crystal layers of the electro-optically active material epitaxially deposited on wafers of the same or similar material

bullet

thin polycrystalline layers of the electro-optically active material non-epitaxially deposited on an appropriate substrate

Detectors are then fabricated in these materials using semiconductor processing technology that has been optimized for that specific detector. The fabrication of high performance devices requires a great deal of knowledge and skill that we have developed only over many years of direct experience.

LEAD SALTS ( PbSe and PbS)

Our expertise in the fabrication of lead selenide and lead sulfide detectors is second to none. We can provide you with world-class expertise and support down to the finest details for the manufacture of state-of-the-art high performance single element detectors as well as linear and two-dimensional multi-element detector arrays suitable for a wide variety of applications in the 1-5 µm spectral region.  We can provide all of the expertise you need to set up a process from scratch to manufacture these detectors or fix or improve your existing process.

SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

In addition to the lead salts we offer chemical support for the manufacture a variety of other electro-optic detectors including

as well as others. Sooner or later  tried and true detector fabrication processes go awry resulting in costly yield reduction and time delays. Our many years of experience and expertise can provide the assistance you need to trouble shoot these processes and bring them back to where they should be or perhaps to levels they have not yet achieved.
